Renova information

Renova is used to improve skin appearance by reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and roughness, and improving color. It can also be used to treat acne. Renova is the only prescription drug proven to reduce certain effects of chronic sun exposure and the natural aging process, when used as part of a total skin care and sun protection program.

Renova - Side Effects

Side effects experienced during the first few weeks of Renova use may include mild redness or stinging, itching, burning, skin scaling, peeling and dry skin. If any of these symptoms persist or are bothersome, discontinue use and consult a doctor. Do not use on serious skin conditions such as sunburn or eczema.

Renova - Warnings

Inform your doctor about any skin disorders or allergies you have or have had in the past. Renova increases your sensitivity to the sun. Limit your exposure to sun and avoid sunlamps. Pregnant women should not use Renova unless it is clearly needed. Consult a doctor. It is unknown whether Renova passes into breast milk. Consult a doctor before breast-feeding.

Store at room temperature. Do not freeze. Keep out of the reach of children.

Renova - Proper Usage

Use exactly as directed. Generally, Renova is for use on the face, usually once a day at bedtime. Apply a small amount of cream to clean, dry face, being careful to avoid the eyes, nostrils and mouth. Cover affected area lightly. Wash hands after use. Do not use more Renova or more often than was prescribed for you. Excessive use will not give better results but may worsen side effects.

Renova - Missed Dosge

If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember; but if it is within a few hours of the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose instead, and take only your next regularly scheduled one. Avoid taking a double dose. The effects of Renova are gradual, with the highest improvement seen in the first six months. When used for acne treatment, the condition may worsen before it improves.

Renova - Drug Interactions

Inform your doctor of any drugs you may be taking, whether prescription or non-prescription, especially isoRetin-A, amiodarone, tetracycline or quinolone antibiotics, sulfa drugs or phenothiazines, since they increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun. Avoid any products that may be drying or irritating, as well as minoxidil and any skin medication, soaps, cleansers, cosmetics, astringents. Benzoyl peroxide should not be applied at the same time as Renova.
