Altace information

Altace is an ACE inhibitor, helping to reduce blood pressure by decreasing the body's production of protein, which causes blood vessels to constrict. Altace is used to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular death in high-risk patients.

Altace - Side Effects

If you experience swelling of the mouth, tongue, or throat, seek emergency medical care. Common side effects include persistent dry cough, dizziness, and light-headedness due to low blood pressure. If you experience any of these, keep taking Altace and consult a doctor. Altace may lower your blood sugar if you’re taking medicine for diabetes. Please contact your doctor if you have symptoms of low blood sugar such as sweating or shakiness.

Altace - Warnings

Do not take Altace during pregnancy, as it is very dangerous for the unborn baby. Do not take Altace if you have had serious side effects related to use of Altace or other ACE inhibitors before.

Altace - Proper Storage

Store at room temperature. Keep out of the reach of children.

Altace - Proper Usage

Take exactly as instructed. Unless otherwise instructed, take 1 Altace capsule per day. You can take it any time of the day, with or without food. If you can't swallow the capsule whole, you may open the capsule and mix the contents with water or apple juice, or sprinkle it on applesauce, and swallow it that way.
