Skelaxin information

Skelaxin is a muscle relaxant, used along with rest and physical therapy for the treatment of injuries and other painful muscular conditions.

Skelaxin - Side Effects

Some mild side effects that you might experience when using Skelaxin are dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nervousness, irritability, nausea, upset stomach, or vomiting. If you experience one or more of these side effects and they become bothersome or seem unusual, consult a doctor. Serious side effects are less common. If you experience any of the following discontinue use of Skelaxin and seek immediate medical help: an allergic reaction (throat closing, breathing difficulty, lip, tongue or face swelling, or hives); yellow skin or eyes.

Skelaxin - Warnings

Skelaxin may make you dizzy or drowsy. Be cautious when driving, operating machinery, etc. Drowsiness and dizziness may be intensified by alcohol use.

Skelaxin - Proper Storage

Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep out of the reach of children.

Use as explained by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, consult your doctor, a nurse, or a pharmacist.

Skelaxin - Missed Dosge

If you miss a dose of Skelaxin and remember before 1 hour has passed, take the missed dose. Otherwise skip the dose you missed and take the next one as scheduled. Avoid taking a double dose.

Skelaxin - Drug Interactions

There are a lot of medicines that combined with Skelaxin may have an effect of heavy sedation. Inform your doctor if you are using antihistamines such as brompheniramine (Dimetane, Bromfed, others), chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton, Teldrin, others), azatadine (Optimine), clemastine (Tavist), and many others; narcotics (pain killers) such as meperidine (Demerol), morphine (MS Contin, MSIR, others), propoxyphene (Darvon, Darvocet), hydrocodone (Lorcet, Vicodin), oxycodone (Percocet, Percodan), fentanyl (Duragesic), and codeine (Fiorinal, Fioricet, Tylenol #3, others); sedatives such as phenobarbital (Solfoton, Luminal), amobarbital (Amytal), and secobarbital (Seconal); phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine (Thorazine), fluphenazine (Prolixin), mesoridazine (Serentil), perphenazine (Trilafon), prochlorperazine (Compazine), thioridazine (Mellaril), and trifluoperazine (Stelazine); or antidepressants such as doxepin (Sinequan), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), fluoxetine (Prozac), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline (Zoloft), phenelzine (Nardil), and tranylcypromine (Parnate). Other drugs may also interact with Skelaxin. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before using any medicines, whether prescription or non-prescription.
