ZOLOFT

Zoloft is used for the treatment of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and other psychiatric disorders. Proper Storage

Store at room temperature, away from sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children.

Proper Usage

Take exactly as directed. Try to take Zoloft at the same time each day. Take each tablet with water, with or without food. Do not quit using Zoloft without first consulting your doctor. It may take several weeks before you start feeling better, and quitting suddenly may cause unpleasant side effects.

Side Effects

Possible side effects of using Zolofts include: headache; tremor, nervousness, or anxiety; nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, or changes in appetite or weight; sleepiness or insomnia. If you experience any of these side effects and they do not go away by themselves, or they are bothersome to you, consult a doctor. The following side effects are more serious: an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives); an irregular heartbeat or pulse; low blood pressure (dizziness, weakness); high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision); or chills or fever. If you experience any of these more serious side effects, stop taking Zoloft and seek immediate medical attention.

Missed Dosge

If you miss a dose of Zoloft, take it as soon as you remember; but if it is almost time for the next dose, just skip the one you missed, and take the one you are supposed to take according to schedule. Do not take a double dose of Zoloft in order to catch up, or for any other reason, unless specifically directed to do so by a doctor.

Drug Interactions

Combining Zoloft with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), or tranylcypromine (Parnate), is dangerous. Do not take Zoloft if you are taking a MAOI or have taken one during the last two weeks. Taking Zoloft when you are also taking pimozide (Orap) could also result in a dangerous drug interaction. If you are taking disulfiram (Antabuse), do not take the Zoloft Oral Concentrate without first consulting your doctor. The oral solution contains alcohol, which may interact with disulfiram. Many other drugs, whether prescription or over-the-counter, and including herbal/natural products, can cause problems if taken along with Zoloft or change the way Zoloft affects you. Tell your doctor of all drugs you may be using before you start taking Zoloft.
